Course Description: This course
is sponsored by IAQ Training Institute and taught by
Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City a partner of the
National
Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH). IAQTI and Children's Mercy
worked together to develop
this 1.5 day course for individuals who already have a good
understanding of indoor environmental quality issues. This course
will focus on the key concepts from the two-day Healthy Home
Practitioner (the connection between health and housing and the
holistic approach to identifying and resolving problems) and provide
in-depth instruction on topics that are not typically part of most
indoor environmental contractor and consultant training courses.
Examples include Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Safety and Injury
Prevention, housing statistics, maintenance codes and more. The
course instructor is Kevin Kennedy, MPH, CIEC, HHS of Children's
Mercy Hospital, Kansas City a nationally renowned expert on housing
and health issues.
Attendees will receive a certificate of
attendance from the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH).
The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA),
"Healthy Homes Specialist" credential exam will be administered the
following morning for those interested in obtaining this credential.
